TryMe Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 4, 2026
TryMe is a couples app built by Xayrus ("Xayrus", "we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use TryMe, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. By creating an account or using TryMe, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: your name, email address, and password (your password is never stored in plain text — it is handled and hashed by Firebase Authentication).
- Profile and couple information: your profile photo, your couple's shared photo, your connection to your partner, relationship/couple status, and the history of challenges and tasks you and your partner complete.
- Progress data: recent activity, completed tasks, category preferences, and progress statistics associated with your couple.
- Push notification data: a device token used to deliver notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging. This token is automatically refreshed and expires after a period of inactivity.
- Biometric authentication: if you enable Face ID or fingerprint unlock, this is processed entirely on your device by your phone's operating system. Xayrus never receives or stores your biometric data.
- Advertising data: TryMe shows ads through Google AdMob. Depending on the consent choice you make (required for users in the EU/EEA), you may see either personalized or non-personalized ads. See Section 4 for details.
TryMe does not request or collect your device's location. We also do not offer sign-in through Google, Apple, or other third-party accounts — TryMe accounts are created directly with an email address and password.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and secure your account, including verifying your email address.
- To connect you with your partner and operate the couple-based features of the app (shared challenges, progress tracking, activity history).
- To send you push notifications about activity relevant to you and your partner.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the app and prevent abuse.
- To show ads that help keep TryMe free to use.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers that help us run TryMe:
- Firebase (Google): authentication, database (Cloud Firestore), file storage (Cloud Storage) for photos, push notifications (Cloud Messaging), and remote configuration.
- Google AdMob: to serve in-app ads, using Google's User Messaging Platform to collect your consent where required.
Your partner can see the profile information, photos, and activity you share within your couple connection as part of how TryMe's core features work.
4. Advertising & Consent
TryMe uses Google AdMob to display ads. If you are located in the European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent form before any personalized ads are served. If you do not consent, TryMe will only show non-personalized ads. You can review or change your ad consent choice at any time from within the app's settings, where available.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your account and couple data for as long as your account is active. If you or your partner end your connection, couple data is marked as deleted and is no longer used to power app features. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us using the details in Section 8.
6. Children's Privacy
TryMe is a relationship app intended for adult couples and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
8. Security
We rely on Firebase's security infrastructure, including access-controlled database rules that restrict your data to you and your connected partner, and encrypted connections between the app and our backend. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information is processed and stored using Google Firebase infrastructure, which may store data in countries other than your own. Google maintains appropriate safeguards for international data transfers as part of its Firebase and Cloud Platform services.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
